Stop hoarding: managing a mobile game library that stays fun

May 8, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

Phones fill up fast, and half the games we install get one session before they're forgotten. I've started treating my library like a bookshelf: if I haven't opened something in a month, it goes.

Grouping games by mood helps more than grouping by genre. A folder of quick casual games, one for evening wind-down titles, one for the meatier stuff I only play at home. It stops me from scrolling aimlessly.

Watch storage too. Some games balloon after updates, and a single racer can outgrow a dozen casual titles. Clearing cache occasionally keeps things snappy.

The goal isn't to have the most games installed. It's to open your phone, know exactly what you're in the mood for, and actually enjoy it.
